The federal government plans to build a new international-standard convention center in Islamabad. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi inspected the site and ordered the removal of illegal encroachments.

ISLAMABAD – The federal government has decided to construct a new convention center in the federal capital, meeting international standards.

Federal Interior Minister, Mohsin Naqvi, visited the proposed site for the new convention center near Bhara Kahu Bypass on Murree Road, where he inspected the location.

During his visit, he issued immediate orders to remove all illegal encroachments from the site. He emphasized that legal action would be taken against the encroachers without any discrimination, and all illegal constructions would be demolished.

Minister Naqvi further stated that no compensation or leniency would be offered to the illegal occupants, and ensuring international-standard facilities in Islamabad is a key government priority.

He also highlighted that the completion of this project would facilitate hosting major international conferences, including the SCO Summit, and would positively enhance the country's image abroad.

The visit was attended by CDA Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa, Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Irfan Mehmood, and other senior officials.
