ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 29th Jan, 2026) Ambassador of Iran to Pakistan, Reza Amiri Moghadam on Thursday emphasized that Iran does not desire war but asserts its right to self-defense against any form of external aggression.

In a media briefing in, the Iranian embassy in Islamabad, Ambassador Moghadam said that Iran does not want war and still hopes that the situation will not move toward conflict. However, he warned that if Iran is attacked, it will not be considered an attack on Iran alone, but an attack on the entire Muslim world.

Ambassador Moghadam stated that the Iranian government has taken significant steps to manage inflation while considering market stability.

Moghadam expressed gratitude towards Pakistan for its support in efforts to prevent war. He emphasized that Iran has no intentions of targeting any head of state and remains focused on diplomatic solutions.

Reza Amiri said that during recent protests in Iran, 3,117 people were killed in violent incidents while 690 terrorists were eliminated. He informed 305 ambulances and buses and 24 gas stations were destroyed. He added that 700 shops, 300 houses, and 750 banks were also targeted.

He further stated that violent mobs destroyed 414 government buildings and 749 police stations, while 120 health centres, 200 schools, and 350 mosques were also attacked.
