Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reviews NAB performance as Chairman Nazeer Ahmed presents annual report, citing recovery of state land, refund to fraud victims, and record Rs6.213 trillion recovery.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) -Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met Chairman National Accountability Bureau Lieutenant General (retd) Nazeer Ahmed, who presented NAB’s annual performance report.
Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar was also present during the meeting, where the prime minister conducted a detailed review of NAB’s overall performance. The NAB chairman briefed the premier on progress made in recovering state land and returning looted assets.
Lieutenant General (retd) Nazeer Ahmed informed the meeting that 2.98 million acres of state land had been recovered during various operations. He said that more than 115,000 victims of fraudulent housing schemes were refunded their money.
The NAB chairman added that these efforts had helped restore public trust, stating that initiatives such as the “Open Court” and the “Central Complaint Cell” played a key role in addressing citizens’ grievances. He further revealed that a record recovery of Rs6.213 trillion was made over the past year through practical and effective measures.
