Karachi imposes a ban on two and four stroke rickshaws on 25 main roads under Section 144 to ease congestion and ensure smoother traffic flow.
KARACHI (Dunya News) - The Karachi administration has imposed a ban on the movement of two-stroke and four-stroke rickshaws on 25 major arteries of the city to improve traffic flow.
The ban has come into effect from today (Monday).
Karachi expands rickshaw ban on 26 major roads
According to officials, rickshaws will not be allowed on Shahrah-e-Quaideen, Shaheed-e-Millat Road, Sher Shah Suri Road, Abdullah Haroon Road, Clifton, Do Talwar and Stadium Road.
The restriction also applies to Rashid Minhas Road, Mauripur Road, University Road, Korangi Road, Hub River Road, Orangi Road, the Super Highway to Malir Road, and Shahrah-e-Faisal.
Punjab moves to ban petrol motorbike and rickshaw production
The ban has been enforced under Section 144 on the recommendation of the DIG Traffic by the Karachi Commissioner.
