ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has said that the ceasefire agreement in Gaza is being criticized as one-sided because Israeli forces continue to violate it and are killing Palestinians, including children.

In a post on social media site X, he said that since the ceasefire came into effect on October 10, at least 352 Palestinians have been killed. Since the beginning of the war, more than 70,000 people in Gaza have lost their lives.

He said that the agreement signed in Egypt’s Sharm El-Sheikh was intended to bring stability to the region, but Israel’s actions have raised questions about its intention to comply with the agreement.

He wrote that Amnesty International has warned that Israel’s acts of genocide have not stopped, and that the international community — especially Western governments — must continue to put pressure on Israel to adhere to international law.

The defence minister said that the Muslim countries that supported the agreement — Turkey, Egypt, and Qatar — may need to reconsider their stance in light of the ongoing violence. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has already expressed concern.
