Pakistan, Saudi Arabia agree to enhance security cooperation

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met Saudi counterpart Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud, agreeing to strengthen security ties, discuss regional issues, and implement a police training exchange programme
(Dunya News) – Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi held an important meeting with his Saudi counterpart Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif with both sides agreeing to strengthen security cooperation.
The discussions between the two high ups focused on strengthening security cooperation between the two countries and addressing several key regional issues.
The long-standing issue concerning the legal status of Rohingya Muslims was also discussed. Saudi Interior Minister Prince Abdulaziz expressed gratitude to Pakistan for its efforts in addressing the plight of the Burmese Muslims.
Additionally, both ministers agreed to implement a police and paramilitary forces training exchange programme to enhance mutual cooperation in law enforcement and security.
A decision was also made to hold a meeting of the working group between the interior ministries of both countries next month to further cement their security partnership.
Minister Mohsin Naqvi emphasized the importance of Pakistan’s relationship with Saudi Arabia, stating, "Saudi Arabia is like a second home to every Pakistani, and we take great pride in our strong and enduring ties."
The meeting was attended by senior officials, including Federal Interior Secretary Muhammad Khurram Agha, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Ahmed Farooq, Commandant of the Federal Constabulary Nazir and other officials.
