PHC extended KP Chief Minister Sohail Afridi’s protective bail until Nov 27, requesting full case details and barring his arrest, as the hearing was delayed due to a lawyers’ strike.
PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – The Peshawar High Court (PHC) on Tuesday extended protective bail of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi until November 27.
PHC bench, comprising Justice Ijaz Anwar and Justice Waqar Ahmed, conducted hearing on the petition filed by the chief minister seeking protective bail and details of cases registered against him.
However, proceedings in the case could not continue due to a lawyers’ strike.
During the brief session, the court extended the chief minister’s protective bail until November 27 and once again directed the concerned authorities to submit complete details of all cases registered against him.
The court also issued an order restraining authorities from arresting Sohail Afridi in any existing case until the next date of hearing.
Counsel for the chief minister stated that multiple cases have been registered against Afridi in Islamabad and other regions, and that he requires full details to approach the relevant courts accordingly.
