Punjab's e-taxi scheme balloting will be held in the last week of November 2025. Over 28,000 applicants have applied for 1,100 electric taxis, with a five-year interest-free financing plan.
LAHORE (Dunya News) – The Punjab government has announced that the date for holding balloting for its much-anticipated e-taxi scheme 2025
Officials said over 28,000 individuals have already applied for the scheme, which aims promoting eco-friendly mobility solutions.
The provincial Transport Department has sent the complete list of applicants to the Bank of Punjab for the management and oversight of the balloting process.
Once the balloting for Punjab e-taxi scheme is conducted, selected applicants will be contacted for the down payment procedure, with electric taxis expected to be delivered within three to four months after payment.
Punjab E-Taxi Scheme Balloting Date
Officials said the balloting for the Punjab e-taxi scheme would be conducted in last week of November 2025.
The E-Taxi Scheme, launched on September 17, 2025, offers a five-year, interest-free financing plan for applicants. As part of the first phase, 1,100 electric taxis, including 30 designated for female drivers, will be distributed.
The government is also setting up a charging infrastructure and an online portal to streamline the application process and manage future documentation.
This initiative is part of Punjab’s push towards cleaner transportation, offering affordable and eco-friendly options to the public.
