ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry has announced the launch of a new initiative, “Secure Neighbourhood,” aimed at strengthening Islamabad’s security following the recent blast outside the city’s district courts.

Speaking to the media alongside Deputy Commissioner Irfan Nawaz Memon, Talal Chaudhry said that the “Secure Neighbourhood” survey will help authorities identify residents in every locality of the federal capital. He stated that Islamabad’s administration bears greater responsibility than other cities as it hosts diplomats and frequent international conferences.

The minister added that new measures include mandatory electronic tagging of all cars and motorcycles, enabling real-time monitoring of vehicles to ensure security.

Deputy Commissioner Irfan Nawaz Memon further announced that the door-to-door survey will officially begin on November 17. Two dedicated mobile applications have been developed for this purpose, allowing residents to register their personal and household data digitally.

He added that citizens must also provide information about domestic workers. Teams will visit houses to collect data from those who do not download the app to ensure complete coverage of the survey.
