QUETTA (Dunya News) – A ban has been imposed on pillion riding across Balochistan until November 30 under the already implemented Section 144, Dunya News reported on Sunday.

According to a notification issued by the Balochistan Home Department, a ban has been imposed across the province on pillion riding on motorcycles. However, women and children will be exempted from this restriction. The use of veils or face coverings, as well as scarves, mufflers, and masks, in public places has also been prohibited.

The notification further states that unregistered motorcycles, tinted windows of vehicles, and the carrying or display of weapons have also been banned. Gatherings of five or more people, as well as sit-ins and rallies, are also prohibited. The transportation of explosives and sulfuric acid has been completely banned.

Violators will face legal action under Section 188 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC). Police, Levies, and Frontier Corps (FC) have been instructed to strictly enforce the order, while Deputy Commissioners have been directed to send daily compliance reports to the Home Department.

These restrictions were imposed through an amendment to the November 5 notification and will remain in force until November 30.
