ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The federal government on Friday announced great news for its employees — the federal cabinet has approved, through circulation, an increase of up to 85 percent in the house rent ceiling for government employees.
According to sources, the Ministry of Housing and Works had submitted the summary for approval, which has now been formally endorsed by the cabinet. Under this decision, all federal employees from Grade 1 to 22 will receive a uniform increase in their house rent ceiling.
Sources further revealed that this decision will impose an estimated financial burden of around Rs12 billion on the national exchequer. However, it is expected to provide significant relief to employees amid rising inflation.
According to official sources, this increment fulfills a long-standing demand of government employees, helping to ease the burden of rising housing expenses.
