KARACHI (Dunya News) - Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari stated that the Pakistan Air Force is a symbol of national pride and dignity.
In a message issued from Karachi on the Air Force Day, the PPP chief paid a heartfelt tribute to the martyrs of the PAF and salutes the bravery of its heroes.
"September 7 is a day in our history that represents courage, sacrifice, and the unparalleled professionalism of our air force," he remarked.
He expressed pride that the chivalry and dexterity demonstrated by the PAF during the 1965 war continue to thrive even today.
The PPP Chairman stated that the "air force’s remarkable success in response to India’s recent aggression is clear evidence of this. During the recent Pakistan-India conflict, our eagles shot down six enemy fighter jets, a feat that will always be remembered as a complete Victory."
He said that through their courage and skill, the eagles of the Pakistan Air Force have once again reminded the world that Pakistan’s sovereignty is inviolable.
He further stated that Prime Minister Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto gifted missile technology to the nation and took steps to modernize the Air Force. She exerted pressure on the Clinton administration to secure F-16 aircraft for the Pakistan Air Force.
The PPP chairman added that during Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto’s tenure, Pakistan and China signed an MoU for the production of JF-17 Thunder aircraft.
