August 14 is a reflection of unparalleled sacrifices, says Gilani

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani stated that August 14 is a reflection of the great struggle and unparalleled sacrifices made by the Muslims of the subcontinent for the creation of Pakistan.

Extending greetings to the nation on Independence Day in his special message, Chairman Senate Gilani said that our elders and leaders sacrificed their homes, properties, and even their lives to make possible the establishment of an independent and sovereign state where we could live according to our religion, culture, and traditions.

Gillani said that these sacrifices will always serve as a guiding light for future generations and are proof that a determined and united nation can achieve any goal.

He further stated that the creation of Pakistan was the realization of Allama Muhammad Iqbal’s dream and the result of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s courageous leadership. On August 14, 1947, Pakistan emerged on the world map as an independent and sovereign nation.

He added that freedom is a priceless blessing, and its protection, survival, and stability are the shared responsibility of every Pakistani. He urged all parliamentarians to rise above political affiliations and sincerely contribute to the country’s development, prosperity, and stability.
