ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday summoned the Adiala Jail superintendent in connection with a petition seeking contempt case against him for not arranging a meeting between former prime minister Imran Khan and former first lady Bushra Bibi despite court orders.
Acting Chief Justice of IHC Sarfaraz Dogar conducted hearing on the plea of former premier Khan.
Faisal Chaudhry represented the PTI founder, pleading that the couple wasn't allowed to meet each other despite the court orders.
"The jail superintendent had stated on Jan 28 that he would comply with the directives given by the court for a meeting between the couple but it didn't take place," he added.
The court instructed the state counsel to ensure a meeting between the PTI founder and his wife.
Meanwhile, the court adjourned the hearing until Feb 27.
It must be noted the PTI founder had filed a contempt plea against the jail superintendent on Feb 8.
