Sindh Food Authority forms scientific panel to improve food standard

The panel would give suggestions to the SFA on nutrition quality of food
KARACHI (Dunya News) - Sindh Food Authority has decided to form a 20-member scientific panel and notification has also been issued for said purpose.
The scientific panel included representatives of food authorities of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.
Food science experts of various universities and representatives of Banaspati Manufacturers Association will also be part of the panel.
The panel would give suggestions to the SFA on nutrition quality, food standard and technical aspects, as SFA’s Director General Muzamil Hussain Halepoto.
The panel will decide about the standards of food products under the latest research.
He added that the scientific panel’s measures would improve the oil and ghee industry and food storage and standard.
The panel would play a pivotal role to ensure the availability of safe and healthy food to the public.
SFA DG emphasised that the food authority would never compromise on the public health and standard of food.
