New machines print 40,000 passports daily against 20,000
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The government resolved the problem of delay in issuing passports by installing new machines.
"The installation process of the modern passport machine was completed which will increase the department's printing capacity," sources said.
It is also said that the passport office has doubled its production capacity by installing new high-speed printers.

According to the Directorate General of Immigration and Passports, 10 state-of-the-art printers have been added, allowing the department to print 40,000 passports daily against the previously 20,000 daily capacity.
Director General of Passports Mustafa Jamal Qazi shared that seven additional advanced machines are expected to arrive at the headquarters soon, along with two printers dedicated to processing e-passports.
Qazi stressed that the enhanced capacity from these new installations would significantly accelerate passport processing, ensuring that backlogs are cleared daily and that citizens receive their passports promptly.
