LAHORE (Dunya News) – Former federal minister Asad Umar stated on Tuesday that he currently has no intention of re-entering practical politics.

During a media interaction following his appearance before an anti-terrorism court regarding the May 9 arson cases, Asad wished former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and former finance minister Miftah Ismail good luck with their newly formed political group.

When asked if he would join Awaam Pakistan, Asad replied that he would not be joining Shahid Khaqan Abbasi’s political party.

Earlier, Asad Umar, who recently underwent leg surgery, appeared before the Anti-Terrorism Court seeking interim bail in the May 9 arson cases.

During the hearing, the former minister pleaded with the court, “I have recently had surgery. I have difficulty walking. My attendance is complete. Please allow me to leave.”

Subsequently, the court granted him permission to leave upon completion of his attendance.
