LAHORE (Dunya News) - The Punjab government has decided to crackdown on corrupt and appointed civil officers by illegal means.

According to sources, the Punjab government has initiated investigation about the political appointments of civil officers and others in the last government tenure.

It has been proposed to not promote officers on key offices appointed by alleged corruption and recommendation.
Officers who were recruited through alleged bribes, and political backing will not be assigned key responsibilities.

Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz has directed for crackdown on corrupt officers.

According to sources, a four-member government board chaired by Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz will appoint officers. Punjab Chief Secretary Zahid Akhtar Zaman will also be the member of the board.

The appointment will be made after the interview in consideration of merit, capability and past record under the right man for right formula.

A comprehensive system has also been devised to scrutinise the performance of civil administration officers.
