Punjab government to launch 'digital school on-wheel' project with support of Google

LAHORE (Dunya News) - The Punjab government has officially proposed to launch a digital school on-wheel project across the province.

Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz has called on a delegation of IT companies, where it was decided to launch the education project.

Under this project, free-of-cost digital courses will be taught to one thousand teachers in government schools.

Meanwhile, Google for Education will support free certification courses for 15 thousand university students. University students will be trained in artificial intelligence (AI) and anti-virus courses.

Two pilot projects of the school on-wheel will be launched within two weeks.

Punjab CM stated that her government was committed to remove problems in the education system and improve it.

He asserted that development was impossible with restructuring in the education system and that local assembling of Chromebooks would be supported.

Maryam Nawaz also informed the Google team about IT projects of the Punjab government and the Google for Education delegation showed interest in the Punjab government's first autism school project.
