ISLAMABAD (Dunya News/Web Desk) – Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Sunday approved deployment of Frontier Constabulary (FC) in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), as he promised extending full cooperation to ensure maintaining law and order in the state.

The move comes after AJK Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwarul Haq met Naqvi at the Ministry of Interior and requested him to send the paramilitary force for assisting the state administration.

During the meeting, they discussed a range of issues concerning security situation and law and order in AJK as well as political matters and upcoming budget for the fiscal year 2024-25.

Speaking on the occasion, Naqvi said the federal government was working on fulfilling the promises made with the Kashmiri people and would improve security situation in the region.

The Centre is standing by the AJK government and the people, he said, promising to provide the resources and take measures for prosperity and development of the state.

Meanwhile, the AJK premier thanked the interior minister for taking swift and proactive steps to address the issues they have been facing.
