HYDERABAD (Dunya News) – At least four persons were killed and dozens other were wounded as a result of a cylinder explosion in a LPG shop located in a three-story building on Zacha Khana Road in Preetabad area of Hyderabad on Thursday, Dunya News reported.

According to details, fire erupted in the building after the blast. Sources said that the initial explosion caused other cylinders in the shop to explode as well, resulting in multiple blasts as a result 38 people sustained injuries.

The injured were shifted to Civil Hospital by local people, rescue teams and Edhi ambulances while fire brigade vehicles also reached the spot immediately to bring the fire under control.

According to sources, more than 15 seriously injured were shifted to Karachi where four of them succumbed to their wounds. Rescue sources informed that the death toll may rise further as most of the injured were in critical condition.

Deputy Commissioner Hyderabad Zain-ul-Abideen Memon, ADC Shahzad Sahi and other officials promptly reached the site to assess the situation. The DC directed Assistant Commissioner City Babar Saleh Rahpoto to prepare a detailed report on the incident.
