Says we as a nation must be united to fight against terrorism
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Defence Minister Khawaja Asif reiterated that Pakistan was determined to wipe out the menace of extremism and terrorism.
Addressing a seminar on anti-terrorism in Islamabad, Asif stated that extremism not only wreaked havoc on economy and precious lives but also affected social fabric.
He stressed that the circumstances demanded new strategic approaches to mitigate the challenges of extremism. He highlighted that Pakistan had borne the price due to extremism.
Pakistan was facing multiple challenges including terrorism and it was fighting it.
He highlighted the sacrifices made by the armed forces against terrorism. He said all relevant state institutions performed commendable duties to eradicate extremism.
The minister affirmed that the National Action Plan was being successfully implemented. He disclosed that there was evidence of cross-border elements involved in terrorism incidents.
He stressed the need for concerted efforts to fight terrorism.
