ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - There is a new twist in the case related to reserved seats meant for the Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) as the head of the party declined to claim these.

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) while taking up the case on Wednesday handed over a letter to Senator Barrister Ali Zafar, saying it's given by the SIC chief who argues that the council was not interested in reserved seats as it did not contest the general election.

The CEC told Zafar that the Council did not want the seats in question so "why are you forcing it"?

Barrister Zafar expressed his ignorance of the letter of the SIC. He said the PTI was not taken into confidence about any such letter by the Sunni Ittehad Council.
