LAHORE (Dunya News) – PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif has proposed forming a government by uniting all political groups, stating that Pakistan cannot afford any confrontation at this point in time.

In his post-election speech, the former three-time prime minister emphasised the need for resolving all challenges facing the country, saying, “Everyone has to sit together. This is everyone's Pakistan. Everyone has to come together to get it out of turmoil.”

Acknowledging the mandate of other parties, the PML-N leader said his party respects the mandate of all politicians, whether it is a party or an independent candidate.

“Regardless of your political affiliation, we invite you all to come and sit with us to get Pakistan out of trouble,” Nawaz said, while affirming that only a prosperous Pakistan was his party’s political agenda. He estimated that at least ten years were needed to stabilise the country.

Nawaz, who was flanked by PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif and PML-N Chief Organiser Maryam Nawaz, called on politicians, parliamentarians, armed forces and media to play a positive role for the sake of the country.

The PML-N supremo, whose party could not secure an outright majority, announced that Shehbaz Sharif has been tasked with meeting former president Asif Ali Zardari, JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman and MQM-P chief Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui for the formation of a coalition government.

The former premier asserted that the PML-N, having emerged as the single largest party, has taken it upon itself to pull the country from the turmoil it was in.

“We invite everyone to sit with us to get Pakistan out of these difficulties,” Nawaz reiterated, showcasing his party’s past achievements while in power.

He mentioned that during his stints as prime minister, the PML-N had assiduously worked to overcome economic challenges and stabilise the economy.
