ECP announces first result 10 hours after polling time ended

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) announced the first official result about 10 hours after the polling time ended, declaring independent candidates successful in two provincial assembly seats of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
Election Commission spokesperson announced the results of two provincial assembly seats while holding a press conference in Islamabad.
He said that independent candidate Samiullah Khan won from PK 76, Peshawar 5 by getting 18 thousand 888 votes.
He said that the total number of votes in this constituency was 132 thousand 437 and 49 thousand 825 people exercised their right to vote and thus the percentage of votes cast was 37.62 percent.
He said announced that independent candidate Fazal Hakeem Khan won from PK 6, Swat 4 by getting 25 thousand 33 votes.
In response to another question, he said that the results were being delayed due to internet problems.
