GUJRANWALA (Dunya News) – Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Maryam Nawaz took a swipe at the founder of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Saturday, stating that the viral disease that plagued Pakistan for the past five years was first driven away by the residents of Gujranwala.

“It ran away because it was scared of you,” Maryam declared in her address to a charged gathering of PML-N workers and supporters, referring to the regime of the PTI founder.

The PML-N leader said that the address by the former three-time prime minister Nawaz Sharif which she believes proved to be a game-changer had taken place in Gujranwala.

Galvanising the massive crowd before her, Maryam remarked that the PML-N aimed to secure all 20 seats from Gujranwala with the support of the public.

She criticised the PTI founder, stating that an individual had made empty promises of generating 10 million jobs. She added that if a similar promise were made by Nawaz Sharif, she was confident that he would indeed create jobs for the unemployed.

Maryam commended the entire Gujranwala community for standing by the PML-N leadership during their critical time, stating that now it was their turn to reciprocate for their companionship.
