LAHORE (Dunya News) – The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has declared 90 percent of the polling stations in Lahore as sensitive.

Sources said 4,403 polling stations have been set up for 44 constituencies of Lahore out of which 3,540 have been declared sensitive and 813 as highly sensitive. Only 50 polling stations have been considered as normal.

Sources said extra police personnel along with army men will be deployed outside sensitive polling stations. The close circuit television (CCTV) cameras will also be installed at all polling stations.

Polling will be held for 14 national and 30 provincial assembly seats in Lahore on February 8.
 

Meanwhile, the district monitoring officers, under the directives of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), have been issuing notices and imposing fines on candidates and other officials concerned in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as well for violation of the Election Code of Conduct.

The District Monitoring Officers, while taking action against candidates, imposed overall a fine of nine hundred sixty-six thousand rupees.

According to details, Rs95,000 fine was imposed on candidates in Peshawar Division, in Malakand Division RS300,000, in Hazara Division Rs171,000, Mardan Division Rs105,000, Kohat Division Rs115,000, Bannu Division Rs30,000 while Rs150,000 fine was imposed on candidates in Dera Ismail Khan Division for violation of the Election Code of Conduct.
