'New bench' to hear PTI founder's petitions against jail trial

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – A new bench of Islamabad High Court (IHC) has been formed to hear the PTI founder's petitions against the jail trial in the NAB case.

A two-member bench of the IHC including Chief Justice Aamir Farooq and Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri will hear the petitions on Jan 22.

Justice Mian Gul Hasan Aurangzeb and Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir held the first hearing on the petitions of the PTI founder against jail trial in NAB case.

The bench has been changed due to the non-availability of Justice Mian Gul Hasan Aurangzeb.

It should be remembered that a two-member bench consisting of Justice Mian Gul Hassan and Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir had issued notices to the parties on Thursday.

The PTI founder's jail trial notification against Al-Qadir Trust case was issued on Nov 14 while notification for jail trial in Toshakhana was issued on Nov 28.

PTI founder challenged Toshakhana and Al-Qadir Trust cases jail trial against him in Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Jan 16.
