ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – A district and session’s judge on Tuesday ordered the counsel for Bushra Bibi to argue on January 30 on her bail application.

Additional Session’s Judge Tahir Abbas Sipra issued the order while hearing the bail application in six cases of PTI founder and one of his wife Bushra Bibi.

Bushra Bibi, her lawyer Khalid Yusuf Chaudhry and investigating officer of the Kohsar police station were present in the court while the prosecutor failed to turn up.

A police official told the judge that no prosecutor was able to attend proceedings. The judge asked defence to plead his case.

Advocate Chaudhry submitted that senior lawyer Salman Safdar was to argue the case but he could not come to Islamabad due to his preoccupation in Lahore High Court.

Judge Sipra remarked that the Islamabad High Court has directed to decide all pending bail applications urgently but he believed that the contesting parties were not interested.

He expressed his anger and warned that he would summon officer concerned at 10 as he would not adjourn the hearing.

The judge remarked that he would decide the case ex parte and the investigating officer would be responsible for the decision. He questioned that if it was difficult to bring the PTI founder in the court, why the case of Bushra Bibi was being kept pending.

Judge Sipra allowed Bushra Bibi to leave after marking her presence.

When the hearing resumed after a short break, the judge ordered the investigating officer and prosecutors to complete all formalities. Later, he bound the defence counsel to argue his case and adjourned the hearing for January 30.
