ECP allots election symbols to PTI candidates

The ECP allotted symbols to candidates after Supreme Court deprived PTI of its bat symbol
LAHORE (Dunya News) – The Election Commission (ECP) has allotted symbols to the candidates belonging to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) to contest polls as independent.
The symbols allotted include shoes, teapot, tongs, goat, sheep, shoe (khussa), chapati pan (tawa), tongue, green chili, cot, well, frying pan, ship, racket, pomegranate, hand pump, peacock, clock, Huqqah, plane (randa), charger.
Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, who has been deprived of his post of PTI chairman after Supreme Court judgement, was allotted “teapot” as symbol while Shaukat Yousafzai’s symbol was “racket”.
Shahryar Afridi will contest election with “bottle” the symbol, Shandana Gulzar has been given the symbol of “bowl” and Alia Hamza Malik from Lahore got “dice”.
The son and daughter of PTI Vice Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Zain and Meher Bano were allotted “shoes” and “tongs” election symbol.
Dr Riaz Lang’s election symbol is “rocket” and Sanaullah Khan Mastikhel from Bhakkar got “letterbox”.
PTI central president Pervaiz Elahi's wife Qaisara Elahi will contest the election on the symbol of “fridge”, Aamir Dogar from Multan got “watch” and Irfanullah Khan Niazi “clock”.
It may be recalled that the Supreme Court deprived the PTI of its “bat” election symbol in its verdict on the appeal of ECP on Saturday after which the election watchdog started allotting symbols to party candidates who will contest election as independent candidates.
