ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), during its meeting on Thursday, could not take any final decision over moving the Supreme Court against the Peshawar High Court's (PHC) decision on PTI's intra-party polls and award of bat symbol.

The top electoral body held its meeting and discussed the PHC ruling. However, there was no final decision over the future course of action.

On Wednesday, the PHC had ruled that ECP decision to declare PTI's intra-party polls null and void was illegal. The court also directed the ECP to allot bat symbol to the party. It ordered the commission to issue PTI's certificate on its website.

In this regard, PTI's lawyer Ali Zafar said if ECP did not restore party's bat symbol it would be a contempt of court. He said his party was ready to fight the case if the top election body challenged the decision in the apex court.
