GUJRANWALA (Dunya News) – A local court in Gujranwala on Saturday reserved its ruling in a treason case against PML-N leader Capt (Retd) Safdar.

Judicial Magistrate Faisalul Islam conducted hearing of the case. After hearing arguments of both parties, the court reserved its judgement.

A treason case was registered against Capt Safdar on October 3, 2020. He is accused of delivering speeches provoking people and committing sedition.

Meanwhile, Capt Safdar said on Saturday it would be a landmark verdict. Talking to media persons outside court, he said court would announce its ruling today (Saturday). “We are waiting for the decision. It will be a historic decision,” he said.

Earlier, the district and sessions courts, Islamabad, had issued non-bailable arrest warrant for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shahbaz Gill in the sedition case.Judge Tahir Abbas Sipra heard the case on Wednesday and directed the SHO to arrest the proclaimed offender and produce him before the court. The court ended the trial of co-accused Ammad Yousaf following the Supreme Court direction.
