Karachi CTD nabs a militant linked to high-profile killings

(Web Desk) – A militant allegedly involved in the high-profile killings was arrested by the Karachi Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) on Tuesday.

The accused who was cell in-charge of a banned outfit-- Lashkar-i-Jhangvi--started target killing after securing his release from prison.

Issuing a statement, the CTD claimed the LJ activist Hafiz Qasim Rasheed alias Bilal was arrested during an operation in Patel Para. The law enforcement agency claimed it had also seized a hand grenade and illegal pistol coupled with six bullets from his possession.

The CTD claimed that accused was involved in the killings of famous Qawwal Amjad Sabri, who was killed in Karachi in 2016, and Mutahhida Qaumi Movement MPA Raza Haider in 2010. The accused had also been operating a network inside the prison during his detention and managed the killings of four Rangers personnel, two Army soldiers and four Shia community members. Two other accused identified as Asim alias Capri and Ishaq alias Bobby were also involved in these killings.

The accused with the help of his fellows including Waseem alias Baroodi, Abdullah, Danish, Hafiz Khalaq, Pervez, Qari Inayat and Abdullah Ilyas Taimuri was orchestrating more terror incidents, the CTD claimed.
