VEHARI (Dunya News) – Jamaat-e-Islami chief Sirajul Haq has stated that Pakistan’s rulers consider themselves masters and the people as their tenants.

During a public meeting at the Hockey Ground here, the JI chief expressed his belief that the country had been under the rule of what he referred to as American puppets for 76 years who, in his opinion, were more loyal to the British than to the people of Pakistan.

Haq emphasised that Pakistan had been under the control of a few select families and generals, and the assets of Pakistan's political leaders were scattered all around the world. He questioned if these rulers had four hands.

The JI chief also pointed out that corruption amounting to more than Rs 12 billion occurred annually in the country.

He also argued that the governor houses in Punjab, Sindh and other provinces were larger than the White House in the United States.

The JI chief highlighted the fact that while Pakistan's friend, Dr Abdul Qadeer, had been confined to his house, India had made scientist Abdul Kalam, who developed India's atomic bomb, their president.

He suggested that it seemed as if Dr Qadeer had committed a crime by developing a bomb and that heroes like him were subjected to extreme cruelty and abuse.

The Jamaat leader mentioned that the nation's daughter, Dr Aafia Siddiqui, was still imprisoned in an American jail, and he believed that the same rulers had sold her to America.
