The Punjab government issued a notification according to which proceedings would be held in jail

LAHORE (Dunya News) – The Punjab government has decided to hold trials of May 9 arson cases, including Jinnah House attack, inside Central Jail here.

The Punjab government on Monday issued a notification according to which proceedings in Jinnah House, Askari Tower and Shadman Police Station siege and attack cases would be held in jail.

The prosecution has already submitted papers of cases in the courts concerned.

The special prosecutor in Jinnah House case, Farhad Ali, said anti-terrorism court judge Arshad Javed would conduct proceedings in jail as the number of accused is 63.

He claimed that it was difficult to move the accused to court and back. The authorities tried to hold daily hearings so that the case could be decided as soon as possible, he added.

He said the bail plea of PTI chief, who is also named in the case, was dismissed for non-pursuance of case and his trial would be conducted from Adiala Jail via video link.
