ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Ready to bury the hatchet, former prime minister Nawaz Sharif has decided to put aside his past confrontations with two retired generals as he prepares to return to Pakistan and lead his party, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, in the upcoming general elections.
According to sources familiar with recent party meetings in London, the PML-N leader will redirect his efforts towards rescuing Pakistan from its current economic turmoil.
The attendees of these discussions included Nawaz Sharif, Shehbaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz, and former finance minister Ishaq Dar, who is leaving for Pakistan today (Saturday) after a two-week stay in London.
Sources revealed that significant decisions were made about the party's narrative for the impending general elections. Shehbaz Sharif and Ishaq Dar, according to insiders, offered valuable guidance to party chief Nawaz Sharif regarding his return to the homeland and the strategic direction of the party.
It was determined that a conciliatory approach should be embraced and promoted, with a commitment to avoiding retaliatory politics and confrontation with the establishment.

The consensus reached during the meetings was that the party should actively address Pakistan's major issues, viewing the current situation as a consequence of divisive politics.
