Netizens react as Solangi voices his opinion against voice notes

(Web Desk) - In the midst of all the hustle and bustle, most people find it to be quite time-consuming and slow to compose a message on their phones; instead, they utilise the voice message option which is comparatively much easier to connect fast.

However, voice messages are something that interim minister of information Murtaza Solangi detests receiving.

In a post on the microblogging website X, formerly known as Twitter, the minister stated his dislike for such communications, especially when they come from those who are not close to him.

"The most annoying and uncivil behaviour is leaving long voice notes for people who are not your near and dear ones," Solangi wrote.

He stated that nobody would think it was nice for others to hear their voice notes carrying "long winded personal stories" in order to defend his point of view.

He added that not everyone carries a headphone just because they might get a voice note from a "too lazy or too goofy" sender.

"It is the laziest people who don’t know or don’t want to type a brief text, send these idiotic voice notes. Why should someone listen to these goofy voice notes, just because you are too lazy or too goofy?" he questioned annoyingly.

The post garnered many comments and reactions from netizens and one user said the minister shouldn't be "ridiculing a feature that was meant to create access (esp for disabled people)".

Solangi responded to that user reaction and said first there is no such as thing as disabled people calling them differently abled people.

All people with disabilities can text now, thanks to technological advancement. The target audience for my message wasn't people with disabilities; rather, it was goofy and lazy people who disguise their goofiness and laziness behind voice notes, he insisted.

Some people also attempted to add to Solangi's knowledge by pointing out that bringing the phone close to the ears immediately switches the audio to the phone's earpiece, allowing you to hear the voice notes but keeping others from hearing you.

However, Solangi was prepared with an answer to this offer as well, stating that he was "not interested in going through the hassle".

"If you don’t have time to text, I don’t have time to lower the volume, put the phone by my hear and listen to the God damn voice notes," he added.
