RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – Two separate engagements took place between security forces and terrorists in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on the intervening night of Thursday and Friday, the military’s media wing has reported.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said an intelligence based operation (IBO) was conducted in area of Katalang, Mardan district, which resulted in killing of a high value target, Faisal, a terrorist ring leader.
The terrorist was actively involved in numerous terrorist activities and was highly wanted by law enforcement agencies. Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the dead terrorist.
In the second encounter, troops effectively engaged terrorists’ location in Parachinar, Kurram district. In the cross-fire, Lance Naik Ghairat Khan, 33, a resident of Kurram district, having fought gallantly, embraced martyrdom.

The ISPR said that Pakistan’s security forces were determined to eliminate the menace of terrorism from the country and such “sacrifices of our brave soldiers further strengthen our resolve”.
