President, PM urge unity as nation celebrates Eid Miladun Nabi (PBUH) with spiritual zeal

The day dawned with 31-gun salute in the federal capital and 21-gun salute at provincial capitals.

LAHORE (Dunya News) - The nation is celebrating Eid Miladun Nabi (PBUH) with traditional zeal and fervor today (Friday), renewing the pledge to transform their lives in line with the teachings of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).

The day dawned with 31-gun salute in the federal capital and 21-gun salute at provincial capitals.

Special prayers were offered in mosques for upholding and flourishing of Islam and unity, solidarity, progress, and welfare of the Muslim Ummah.

Mosques, Streets, roads, markets and buildings have been beautifully decorated and illuminated with lights, colours and banners bearing writings about the celebration of Eid Miladun Nabi (PBUH).







A number of activities, including processions, seminars, conferences and discussion programmes will be organized across the country to mark the annual religious event.

Government has announced a national holiday on the occasion. Processions will also be taken out in all small and big cities in which models of holy Kaaba and the Gumbad-e-Khizra (green dome) will be carried.

President Dr Arif Alvi on Thursday felicitated the Pakistani nation and the Muslim Ummah on the blessed day of Miladun Nabi (Peace Be Upon Him).

In a message on the occasion of 12 Rabiul Awwal, he said the arrival of Prophet (PBUH) was good tidings for relieving the suffering of humanity adding that the arrival of the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) was the greatest and the most blessed event in history.

The president said due to Holy Prophet (PBUH), the humanity was honoured with the reward of guidance and mercy from Allah Almighty.

He said Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was brought to this world as the ‘mercy for all the worlds’.

He said the life of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) was an embodiment of obedience to Allah Almighty, justice, compassion, and love towards human beings.

He said Holy Prophet (PBUH)’s teachings are universal and undying source of guidance for the mankind and present solutions to uncountable challenges being faced today and to be faced till the doomsday.

“In the whole life of Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), we find a perfect model not only for faith and worship, but also for all aspects of life.”

President Alvi said teachings of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) with regard to the oneness of Allah Almighty, social justice, human rights, gender equality and welfare of the poor reflected the comprehensiveness and universality of the message of Islam.

He said Pakistan was a country with different cultures and religious diversity. “We should give importance to this diversity and should work diligently for the promotion of unity and better understanding among the fellow citizens.”

The president said after the establishment of the Islamic State in Madinah by the Holy Prophet (PBUH), the rights given to the non-Muslims and the agreements with the followers of other religions should be kept in mind by all Pakistanis.

The president called for letting down all the forces that were keen to destroy the unity in Pakistan.

“Let us ponder upon the life and teachings of the Holy Prophet (PBUH),” he said adding that as a nation it was binding upon us that we in our daily life should maintain the good values and promote such atmosphere where rights of all people should be protected.

On the blessing day of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH), the president called upon every Pakistani to pray to Allah Almighty to shower His blessings on the nation and the whole world.

He also prayed to Allah Almighty to shower His blessings on Pakistan and that the teachings of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) continue to illuminate our paths in the process of establishing a just and prosperous society.

'Obey the Holy Prophet (PBUH)’s teachings of brotherhood and compassion'

Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar urged the nation to obey the Holy Prophet (PBUH)’s teachings of brotherhood and compassion besides following his message of unity to become an example of tolerance and coexistence.

The prime minister, in his message to the nation on Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH), extended his greetings to the whole of the Pakistani nation as well as the Muslim world.

He said the Muslims were fortunate to be the followers of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) who was the embodiment of all traits being imitable for every human being.

He said the Holy Prophet (PBUH)’s life was a shining example of compassion, tolerance and love with his character teaching kindness, justice and mercy to become a ray of hope in today’s divided world.

The prime minister called for turning to the Holy Prophet (PBUH)’s teachings, particularly at a time when Pakistan was faced with different challenges.

Kakar also called for compassion for the poor and needy as emphasised by the Holy Prophet (PBUH).

“Let us come together to help those who are struggling, become a supporting hand for those in need, and build a better and more equal society for all,” he remarked.

The prime minister said the Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) was also a moment to renew the pledge to inculcate the Holy Prophet (PBUH)’s values in personal lives.

He prayed to Allah Almighty to make Pakistan a cradle for peace, progress and brotherhood and enable his countrymen to follow the Holy Prophet (PBUH)’s teachings both collectively and individually.
