ISLAMABAD (APP) - Dry weather is likely in most parts of the country during the next 24 hours, according to a weather forecast by the Pakistan Meterological Department (PMD).

The Met Office says a shallow westerly wave is still prevailing over northern parts of the country.

During the last 24 hours, rain-wind/thundershower occurred in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit Baltistan and Kashmir.

Hot and dry weather prevailed in other parts of the country.

The rainfall recorded during the last 24 hours was Punjab: Murree, Okara 45mm, Rawalpindi (Kacheri 31, Chaklala 21, Shamsabad 13), Faisalabad 28, Attock 26, Noorpur Thal 16, Sargodha 12, Mangala 11, Joharabad 09, Islamabad (Bokra 23, Airport, Zero Point) 09, Saidpur 07, Golra 05), Chakwal 04, Hafizabad 02, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: Balakot 40, Peshawar (Airport, City), Kakul, Bacha Khan (Airport) 18, Malam Jabba 15, Dir (Lower 06, Upper 02) ), Saidu Sharif 06, Patan 05, Dera Ismail Khan, Charat 01, Kashmir: Garhi Dupatta 28, Kotli 15, Muzaffarabad (Airport, City) 11, Rawalakot 03, Gilgit-Baltistan: Gupis, Skardu, Bunji 04, Bagrote, Hunza, Astore and Babusar 02.

The highest maximum temperatures recorded were Sibbi 41 C, Lasbella, Shaheed Benazirabad and Pasni 40 C.
