Pakistan
Both the professors hail from the physics department
DERA GHAZI KHAN (Web Desk) - Police have arrested two professors of Ghazi University Dera Ghazi Khan in connection with the rape case of a female student.
Another case has also been registered against the suspects on the complaint of girl’s father for issuing him threats for registering a case against them. The suspects forced the girl’s father to convince his daughter to withdraw the case.
The FIR said that both the professors from the Physics Department had threatened to kill him if the rape case against them was not withdrawn.
The student has earlier alleged that both the teachers were also blackmailing her younger sister.
The varsity's spokesperson had said that it was an old issue and the university had taken action against the suspects.
“Both the teachers have been suspended and a departmental inquiry is also under way,” said the spokesperson.
The reputation of university is now at stake as the varsity’s administration didn’t take any stern action against the suspects.
The students from the Physics department had filed a complaint on the Pakistan Citizen Portal on Feb 4, 2023 against harassment by two professors.
A committee was also constituted by the university administration but the whistle-blowers were victimized instead of going for launching the criminal cases against the suspects.
