MRP facility will facilitate online verification of data: Rana Sanaullah

BAGHDAD (Dunya News) – Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah introduced on Thursday the facility of machine-readable passport (MRP) at the Pakistan embassy in Iraq.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Sanaullah said, "In continuation of my activities in Iraq, I had the honour of inaugurating the MRP facility in the historic city of Baghdad".

He further said: "With this facility, Pakistani citizens and pilgrims will be able to obtain machine-readable passports for five to 10 years".

In another tweet, Sanaullah said, "Earlier only manual passports were issued for one year, as a result of which Pakistanis living in Iraq were facing various problems."

"This facility will facilitate online verification of data as well as the process of obtaining Iqama, visas and jobs," Sanaullah maintained.
