The boy fell into a puddle caused by digging

KASUR (Dunya News) - A seven-grade student drowned in a puddle during downpour at Sahbniwala village on the outskirts of Kasur on Saturday.

Reports said 13-year-old Hasnain went outside to take shower in the rain but didn’t return home. The family made frantic efforts to find clue to the boy and to their dismay, they found him in a puddle a kiln owner had dug up. It was filled with rainwater and the boy mistakenly fell into it and drowned.

The news of the boy's death cast a pall of gloom in the neighbourhood and the family and neighbours took to the street in a state of shock and agitated against the authorities for negligence.

A team of the Khudian Khas police reached the spot to control the mob which had blocked the road for traffic. The protesters demanded action against the kiln owner.
