Eight-member bench to hear plea
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Thursday fixed the plea against Practice and Procedure Act 2023 for hearing on July 21.
Chief Justice of Pakistan Umar Ata Bandial led eight member larger bench would hear the plea. SC’s registrar office issued notices to all pleaders and respondents in this regard.
Earlier, the apex court fixed the pleas for trial of civilians in military courts for hearing on July 18.
The newly-nominated CJP Justice Qazi Faez Isa had excused himself from hearing the cases until the decision on Practice and Procedure Act case. Justice Sardar Tariq Masood also agreed with Justice Isa while Justice Mansoor Ali Shah had distanced himself after the objection raised by the federal government.
