Prices of sacrificial animals shoot up ahead of Eid

LAHORE (Dunya News) – As the Eid-ul-Azha is approaching, the prices of sacrificial animals have increased manifold.

Most makeshift sacrificial animals’ markets in Lahore and Karachi are attracting a considerable number of potential buyers. However, most of the visitors were observed leaving without purchasing any animals. When asked, they cited the skyrocketing prices of the sacrificial animals as the reason.

Cattle breeders said that major contributors to rising prices were because of high transportation and feeding costs.

The high prices of sacrificial animals have affected the low-income and salaried class the most.

The Metropolitan Corporation Lahore (MCL) specified 10 sites for establishment of makeshift cattle markets and sales points this year.
