Says govt has just 50 more days
RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – There was not a single segment in Pakistan, which had escaped instability, said Sheikh Rashid, the Awami Muslim League chief, who listed state, economy and politics to prove his point.
In a series of tweets posted on Thursday, Rashid remarked that the government had 50 more days while only eight days were left before the International Monetary Fund (IMF) agreement would expire.

Let’s see whether Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif would be able to convince the IMF or returns empty handed from France, said the former cabinet member, adding that 200 million Pakistanis were living below the poverty line that included 20 million unemployed with default hanging like a sword.
He warned that the country was on ventilator and added that closure of industries meant more unemployment and hunger. The coalition partners were claiming to bring prosperity to the country but they had only created inflation and joblessness, Rashid remarked.
The Awami Muslim League head said Finance Minister Ishaq Dar used to claim that he would bring the dollar exchange rate down to Rs200 but was currently begging the US and the UK ambassadors for getting the IMF deal done.
Rashid said those involved in money laundering and NAB cases were made rulers and were enjoying foreign visits instead of being in jail – again warning that no foreign investors would come to Pakistan where the constitution and law were being disrespected.
He claimed registration of fake cases and said people being released from prisons were at once arrested under another readymade FIR, accusing the police of not respecting the sanctity of homes and registering cases as if there was a sale on offer.
