Says Nawaz Sharif won’t return home soon

RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – Sheikh Rashid – the Awami Muslim League chief – said on Wednesday why the foreign investors would be attracted to Pakistan when the local businessmen were not ready to invest in the country.

No investment was possible sans political stability in Pakistan, said the former cabinet member in a series of tweets and claimed that Finance Minister Ishaq Dar had resorted to begging the foreign diplomats.

The PML-N supremo, Nawaz Sharif, would not return to Pakistan soon given how hard it was for him to fly abroad, Rashid remarked.

Commenting on the economic revival plan, he said neither economic issues were resolved and political stability achieved nor the IMF paid any attention and friendly countries extended any help. The government should first shift the assets held in London and Dubai back to the country, Rashid said.

He predicted that the default threat was still looming as the IMF deal would expire by June-end while the country won’t get anything till December, adding that the LNG was also going to become an issue.

Rashid said the PML-N and the PPP were staging a friendly match and that there would be unprecedented rigging in the upcoming elections. The PPP had been taking full advantage of the situation while the PML-N was destined to be a loser, he quipped.
