Two more suspects arrested as operation against human traffickers intensifies

Police had caught one of key suspects Mumtaz Arain
GUJRANWALA (Dunya News) - The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested two human smugglers during an operation in Gujranwala.
According to sources, the arrested human smugglers are identified as Mohsin and Sharafat. The suspects had taken Rs2.5 million from Umar Yahya to send him to Italy. Umar also boarded the ship that sank midway while heading to Greece from Libya. The FIA has arrested eight human smugglers so far.
Previously, the Punjab police had caught the main culprit and human smuggler identified as Mumtaz Arain for his involvement in the Greek ship incident through an operation. The agencies also seized important documents, mobile phone data and other evidences from his possession.
Another accomplice of the incident, Islam, was also arrested and his mobile phone was confiscated. Important evidence, including documents and mobile data, was recovered from the suspect.
The country has so far arrested over a dozen suspects in Sheikhupura, Gujrat, Karachi and other areas during the operation against human traffickers. Moreover, The Inspector General of Punjab stated that all individuals involved in the incident will be arrested soon.
On the other hand, a resident of village 32 EB, identified as Nadim Agent, who went missing in the Greek ship incident, was taken by someone after paying a hefty sum of money. Nadim's parents stated that their son was also on the ship and they have not received any information about him yet. They appealed to the government for assistance.
