Sources confirmed that the prime minister has approved the amount for Sindh

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday approved Rs25 billion after one of the main coalition partners Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari's threat of refusal to get budget 2023-2024 approved.

Sources confirmed that the prime minister had approved the amount for Sindh.

It may be recalled that the prime minister had also assured a PPP delegation of provision of funds, which met him on Friday. The delegation comprised Syed Naveed Qamar, Sherry Rehman, Syed Khurshid Shah, Qamaruzzaman Kaira, Syed Murad Ali Shah and Nisar Khuro.

Interestingly, the PPP chief threatened the premier that he would not help approve the federal budget if funds were not allocated for the rehabilitation of the flood victims.

Bilawal complained in a rally held in Swat about not being able to fulfill his promises in the budget.

Reacting to his statement, Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Minister Ahsan Iqbal suggested to resolve the matter in the cabinet and avoid opening a new front. He said the federal budget was tabled in the National Assembly with the consent of Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shehbaz will chair a meeting today (Monday) which will be attended by Bilawal as well as ministers to resolve the dispute.
