She expressed concern that the previous government had led youth astray

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – In a press conference held on Thursday, the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for Youth Affairs, Shaza Fatima Khawaja, announced the revival of the laptop scheme, aimed at empowering the youth in Pakistan.

Addressing the media, Shaza Fatima Khawaja emphasised the role of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) in empowering the youth throughout history. She highlighted that former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had initiated the youth program in 2013, focusing on providing a better future for the young generation.

Under this program, various projects were launched, including the distribution of laptops to students.

Regrettably, the laptop scheme was discontinued in 2018. However, this year marks its reintroduction, according to Shaza Fatima Khawaja.

She expressed concern that the previous government had led the youth astray, influencing them negatively through manipulative discourse.

The recent events that unfolded on May 9 during PTI protests were deemed a continuation of such divisive tactics.

Shaza Fatima strongly condemned these incidents and highlighted the government's commitment to promoting healthy activities among the youth.

In addition to restarting the laptop scheme, the SAPM also mentioned other initiatives being undertaken to nurture young talent. Over 54,000 children have been involved in various sports activities, fostering physical fitness and teamwork.

Furthermore, the National Innovation Program aims to recognize and support innovative ideas by awarding prizes to 3,000 deserving students.
